T-SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST 2027
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama Kids Marathon is excited to host our second annual t-shirt design contest! The contest is open to Alabama students in kindergarten through 5th grades. This year our shirts will feature SUPERPOWERS - artists are encouraged to create designs about how running and staying healthy unlocks their inner SUPERHERO.
We KNOW that running and staying active leads to strong muscles, a healthy heart and a powerful brain - great traits that ALL superheroes have. What superpowers do you unlock when training for the Kids Marathon?
• LEADERSHIP: I listen to the teacher and help my classmates with instructions
• ENCOURAGEMENT: I cheer for my friends to keep them moving
• ENDURANCE: I love running so much I don’t want to stop
• ENERGY: Training for Kids Marathon keeps me pumped up through the school day
How does running make you feel like a superhero?
RULES AND RECOMMENDATIONS
• Entries must be received by noon on December 15, 2026.
• Students must be in grades kindergarten through 5th during the 2026-2027 school year.
• Submissions may be created digitally, drawn, painted or collaged on paper - get creative! - but the images must be submitted electronically using this form.
• Student entries may be submitted by parents, legal guardians or teachers.
• One entry/design per student.
• Winners will be selected and notified in January 2027. The overall winner will received $100, have their design printed on the 2027 Kids Marathon event shirts and will be featured on the jumbotron on race day. All participants will have their designs featured on our website and on the jumbotron on race day.
• Winning designs may be slightly modified to facilitate screen printing. Any changes will be submitted to the artists for approval before printing.
• Students are not required to register or participate in the kids marathon to enter the design contest.
• This contest and all prizes are presented by Birmingham Marathon, Inc., the event organizer, and are not managed or administered by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama.
